Having heard the oft repeated story, the old lady ventured to make one particular enquiry:
"Was Mary — on board the William Brown?"
"Yes, she was."
The next question dropt tremulously from her lips.
"Is she saved?"
"Yes, I am she."
"My child!" exclaimed the mother.
