Rev. Mr. Adams Installed As Pastor Cumberland Church

The Rev. P. Carey Adams was formally installed as pastor of Browns and Cumberland Presbyterian Churches Sunday, with a 10 a.m. service of installation at Browns and an 11:15 service at Cumberland Church.

A commission of five ministers and five elders appointed by Appomattox Presbytery at its January meeting conducted the ceremony of installation which consists of a sermon, a charge to the minister and a charge to the congregation.

Ministers on the commission were the Revs. John Cunningham, Fletcher Hutcheson, Millard Simpson, James Merrin and C. Lloyd Arehart.

Elders participating were P. T. Atkinson, Royster Lyle, Edward Simpson, Reuben Johns and J. A. Hazelerove.
