Forrester B. Washington, director of the Atlanta School of Social Work announced recently that the school is still accepting applicants who possess exceptional qualifications. The school has a quota of 150. More than the number have applied but they do not have the 80 per cent scholastic average or the references necessary for admittance.
It was pointed out by Mr. Washington that with rising unemployment in the present period, there is a greater need of social workers than ever before. Consequently there should be a greater interest in the field by those who are temperamentally fitted for the field of social work.
The writer knows Mr. Washington and is familiar with the wonderful work he has done at the Atlanta school. One will find graduates of the school in all sections of the country serving in most useful capacities in the community, helping greatly in solving the problems that beset each community.
