These letters further add, that the magnificent presents which the King of Prussia received last month from Russia, were not intended for him by the late Emperor Peter III. as hath been said in some foreign gazettes; but came from the present Empress, who at the same time assured his Majesty, that if he could not, by her good offices, prevail with the Empress Queen to listen to reasonable terms of peace, & restore tranquility to Germany, a body of between 40 and 50,000 Russians should next campaign join his Prussian Majesty, in order to compel her to it by force.
