Music Lovers To Present
Clarence Cameron White

MEMPHIS, Tenn.—(SNS)—

Theodore R. McLemore, president of the Alumni Association of LeMoyne College announced last Saturday that on November 25th the LeMoyne Alumni and Washington High School will jointly sponsor the appearance of Clarence Cameron White in a recital at Hamilton Auditorium Washington High School.

The decision of the Alumni to sponsor the local performance of the noted violinist was voted at a special meeting of the organization Monday night, October 12th.

The sale of patron's tickets has already been initiated and the sale of general admission tickets and student tickets will begin on October 26.

Nationally Renowned

Dr. Clarence Cameron White, who has been head of the Music Department of Hampton Institute and was succeeded by the distinguished Dr. Nathaniel Dett, has won the plaudits of the nation for his skill as a violinist. Besides being unusually talented in his rendition of classic numbers, he also has gained renown as a composer, and as an interpreter of the folk songs of the American Negro. Dr. White has also made successful appearances in Europe and has played for the royal house of England.

Opens Concert Season

The appearance of Dr. White in this city will mark the commencement of the fall concert season. A meritorious and colorful opening it will be because the violinist will be accompanied at the piano by his brilliant wife Mrs. Clarence Cameron White. A capacity house is expected.
