GOOD REPUBLICAN MEETINGS OVER THE COUNTRY

Senator I. E. Rockwell, of southern Idaho, spoke at Ferdinand Tuesday night to a splendid audience, and again Wednesday night to a Cottonwood audience, and is said to have made a most favorable impression, the audiences listening for one hour and a half with undivided attention while he dwelt upon state and national affairs. Senator Rockwell, who is an expert accountant, thoroughly sifted Gov. Moses' claims of several hundred thousand saving to the taxpayers of the state through his personal efforts: and when through, that mythical saving looked like a counterfeit thirty-cent piece. There were several candidates in attendance at the Ferdinand meeting, among the number being Senator E. S. Sweet, Representative Henry Meyer, Wm. Webb, candidate for sheriff; Allen O. Hess, candidate for Probate Judge: B. Auger, candidate for county prosecutor, and other citizens from this side.

Senator Rockwell returned with the county seat contingent, and spent the night and part of the next day in the city, before going to Cottonwood, where he spoke again in the evening. He was accompanied to Cottonwood by quite a number from here.
