Several Towns of the North have followed the example of Boston; and addressed the President. Among these are Newburyport, Beverly, Portland, Wiscasset, Bath, Wenham, Berkeley, Halloway, Shrewsbury, Gloucester, Newbury, Scituate, Cohasset, Cambridge, Amesbury, Topsfield, Plymouth, New-Bedford, Groton, Wells, Arundel, Alfred, New-Ipswich, North Yarmouth, and Boothbay.
Several districts have also pursued the patriotic example displayed by the Select-men of Salem. Among these, are Marblehead one of the principal fishing towns of the north, the republicans of Portland and Pittston in the district of Maine, the Select-men of Worcester, Saco, Charlestown, Andover, Watertown, Dighton, and the inhabitants of Barnstable, Canton, Lynn towns, and County of Norfolk in the state of Massachusetts.
We understand, that the reply of the President has gone on to Boston; so that we may expect to see it every day.
