Full Text

Andy Johnson's Proclamation.

We would give right smart for a copy of Governor Johnson's proclamation to the people of East Tennessee. It is said to be circulating among the faithful in this district. We are afraid some of our patriotic fellow citizens will never rest until they get into trouble. We promised more than six months ago to save them in spite of themselves, and thus far have succeeded; but if they persist in their foolish and froward course, we shall be constrained to withdraw our protection and leave them to their fate.
