THE UNEASY RED MAN.

Arizona and New Mexico Unite to Put Down the Hostiles.

ALBUQUERQUE, N. M., Oct. 3.

Gov. Trittle of Arizona and Gov. Ross of New Mexico, considered the Indian question at a conference which they had yesterday. It was determined to put the militia of both territories into the field for cooperation without regard to territorial boundaries. It was also decided to occupy, as nearly as possible, every watering place in districts occupied by the hostiles. A Tucson, Ari., dispatch says Mike Noonan a rancher, was killed Thursday by Apaches in his cabin on the east side of the Dragoon mountains. A large body of Indians was seen in those mountains last night. Lieut. Roberts at Fort Bowie telegraphs: "Three companies of troops and Crawford with his scouts are supposed to be in the Dragoon mountains. Everything possible is done to round up the Indians." An encounter between the troops and Indians now seems imminent.
