UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA.
Tucson. Jan. 11. - Blue skies will soon smile upon university tennis enthusiasts when the players take the courts this month for what promises to be one of the most brilliant years in the history of the sport.
A good varsity tennis team is in prospect as well as a rounded freshman squad to engage in smaller tourneys. Effort is being made to secure a good program of contests between Arizona and coast schools and it is believed that some good competition will result.
The girls' intramural tennis activities will also begin this month. A team has been selected from each house on the campus and will compete in singles for championship.
The start of the varsity and freshman practice marks the beginning of a season of tennis at the university that is culminated with the annual high school tournament in May. By that time all of the varsity matches are over and the team members will be on hand to referee and direct the high school competitions.
