Capt. Wilson arrived here since our last from Bristol, with whom came Passenger Capt. Balt. Kip, of this Port, who informs us,

That 6 Days after he left Sandy Hook, on the 9th of July, he fell in with a Fleet of eight Sail of French Vessels, in Lat. 31. 50. Long. 68. 56, from London, and was chased 4 Hours, when he was brought to and taken by the Polacco St. Alexis, Anthony Forrest, Commander. and was delivered up to the Commodore, a King's Frigate, called the Tyger, mounting 24 nine Pounders, and 180 men, who sent his Brig to the Cape. Capt. Kip and five of his Men being kept on board the Tyger :

That on the 23d July, about 25 Leagues to the North of the Western Islands, the Tyger fell in with two Ships, one Snow, and a Brig : One of the Ships engaged the Tyger two Glasses, when two of the Tyger's Guns bursted, killed five Men and wounded several more, the Tyger then sheering off and run.

On the 4th of August, about 32 Leagues from the River Bourdeaux, the Tyger fell in with and engaged the King George Privateer, Capt. Reed of Bristol, for four Glasses, when the Tyger having three Guns burst, 35 or 40 Men killed, and as many wounded, he struck to the King George, several Shot coming in between Decks where Capt. Kip and his People were, by which two Frenchmen lying sick in their Beds were killed. The Tyger's cargo consisted of 400 Hogsheads of White Sugar, between 50 and 60 Ton of Indigo ; besides coffee, cotton, hides, and cash.

The Tyger in her outward bound Passage fell in with and engaged the Diana Frigate for six Glasses. when the former lost her Fore and Mizen mast, had 70 Men killed and wounded, and put into the Canary Islands to refit. She also exchanged two Broad sides going into the Cape, with the Trent Frigate.
