The National Republican Convention
for the purpose of nominating candidates
for President and Vice-President of the
United States, meets at Baltimore on
Monday next. The delegates from this
State left for New-York on their way to
Baltimore, in the steamer President on
Tuesday last. We learn that Geo. W.
Irving, Esq. one of the delegates elected
from this State, declined serving owing
to ill health, and that the vacancy has
been filled by the choice of Charles E.
Lerry Robbins, Esq. who has accepted
the appointment, and proceeded in company
with the rest of the delegation to
Baltimore.
