BALTIMORE, JULY 28.

Fatal Negligence.—Chase Barney, an interesting child, aged about nine years, the son of Major W. B. Barney, was yesterday afternoon suddenly ushered into eternity, by the giving way of some rotten plank, carelessly placed over a well in Lexington street, on which he playfully jumped as he was going to school. The well was between 30 and 40 feet deep, and had ten feet water in it. If this is not a sufficient warning to our corporation and pump contractors, the next may be in their own families.
