—It's a privilege to live in Imperial Valley!
Imperial Valley's campaign of confidence received new impetus Wednesday when El Centro's Main street merchants decided to feature valley products in store window displays.
Each merchant will select one major crop to feature in his window. A placard will show the quantity of that crop produced last year and its value. Window decorations will feature this crop in a vivid manner worked out by the window decorator.
Members of the window decorating committee headed by Harry H. Hovey announced they expected 20 or more stores in El Centro to participate in the event arranged as a part of the campaign to sell Imperial Valley to Imperial Valley residents.
Displays will be rotated from week to week and eventually will appear in the windows of stores in other valley cities as the campaign of confidence spreads.
Walter B. Havekorst, chairman of the campaign of confidence committee, sent letters to all organized groups in the valley, announcing that speakers are available on request. These speakers will be provided with data showing the valley's agricultural development and the value of valley land. Organizations wishing speakers may communicate with the El Centro Chamber of Commerce.
