On Thursday, the 19th inst. being the anniversary of the President's birthday, was celebrated here, by William Smith, Esq. the Minister Plenipotentiary of the United States at this court who gave on the occasion a sumptuous entertainment at his house, at Buenos Ayres, to a numerous and respectable company of American captains and citizens. After sixteen patriotic toasts, intermixed with convivial songs, the company, having spent the day with great good humour and festivity, broke up at nine o'clock, much pleased with the occasion which had collected together so many Americans at such a distance from home. All the American vessels in the harbour were gaily decorated, and at 12 o'clock a federal salute of 16 guns was fired by some of them in honor of the day, and at five in the afternoon the salute was repeated. This anniversary occurring on a day highly distinguished in the annals of the American revolution by the surrender of York-Town, the recollection of so auspicious an event could not fail to increase the happiness of the company.

The American Flag; may it wave unmolested in every quarter of the globe; navigation be as respected as our navigators are respectable. 10. To the recovery of Mr. John Bulkeley, a steady friend to the United States. 11. The late Minister of the United States at Lisbon. 12. The Secretary of State of the United States. 13. The Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. 14. The Secretary at War of the United States. 15. The American Envoys at Paris. 16. Smooth seas and pleasant gales.
