Full Text
Two French frigates, and several transports are arrived here from the island of Corsica with two thousand Jesuits on board. The French turning all the Jesuits out of the island, and they not being permitted to land here, other vessels are hired to carry them to some part of the Roman State, but where is uncertain: They were so thick on board, the transports being small, that there was not room for them under deck, they were obliged to stand on deck many of them all weathers. These French transports are going to carry more troops over to Corsica, the French having lost there vast numbers. The Corsicans are entrenched on a very advantageous situation.
