Movement in New York to Nominate Mr. Greeley.

Special Telegram to the Cincinnati Commercial.

New York, June 2.

The Central Republican Committee did not formally nominate Mr. Greeley for President last night, as had been expected. They thought best to await Mr. Greeley's return. They appointed a committee to arrange a serenade on his return. At this serenade nobody but Mr. Greeley will be allowed to speak. It is thought in this speech he will distinctly define his position. Meanwhile everything is in preparation for his formal nomination. Greeley Clubs are being organized in every ward in the city, and the State will be carried by storm when the fight is once opened.

Grant is evidently alarmed. He came up to the city this morning, and spent the day in the Custom House, conferring, it is said, with the various city politicians.
