Full Text

It is generally believed that the nominations of Mr. Stevenson and Major Eaton for England and Spain will speedily be taken up; and although there is little doubt that, in the present construction of the Senate, they will be confirmed, there is likely to be a very formidable opposition. As to the Judges, there will be no action until the Judiciary bill before the House shall have been disposed of. Mr. Kendall still remains sick. His nomination will not probably be acted on for the present, as there is likely to be an accumulation of legislative business which will occupy the Senate.
