ATLANTA, Ga.-(SNS)-
The Fulton grand jury returned true bills Friday against Willie London Page, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Page, 938 Parsons St.
Page was arrested and jailed a week ago in connection with a misunderstanding which had developed between him and Maggie Rousey, white woman clerk in a Forrest 5 cent and 10 cent Store, located at the corners of Ashby and Hunter Streets.
On a first count for misdemeanor, the jury charges Page with making improper remarks to the Rousey woman, when he is alleged to have said to her after she asked why he didn't go away, "Come and go with me." It is reported that Page made this remark on September 16, but going away nothing was done about it until he had returned to the store on Friday.
Upon entering the store, Gladys Cassidy, another white woman employee at the store, is reported to have questioned the Page boy about the statement. He denied making the remark. Neighbors undertook to effect an adjustment of the incident, and stated that they were impressed that the thing had been settled. But later the arresting officers came and got the Page boy.
