Washington. Rear Adm. George A. Russo has succeeded Rear Adm. Edward B. Harp Jr. as Chief of Navy Chaplains.
Admiral Harp, who has headed Navy clergymen since February 1953, has been named Chaplain of the 11th Naval District, retaining his present two-star rank.
The tenth Chief of Chaplains, Adm. Russo was formerly assigned to duty in the Bureau of Naval Personnel.
