Full Text

The N. Y. Journal of Commerce says:—A gentleman who was yesterday in company with a large number of members of the Rhode Island Legislature of all parties, and participated in a general conversation about Dorr, and what should be done with him, tells us that there seemed to be no favor anywhere for Dorrism, nor any weighty anxiety about the matter, either way. On the whole, the opinion seemed to be, that he had been confined long enough for the purpose of good order;—that there could be no danger from him in the present sentiment,—and that he might as well be allowed to run at large, and his Coventry regiment get up a triumph for him if they like.
