We perceive by an advertisement in the Quebec Mercury of the 15th of November, that the following file of American officers, prisoners of war, on board the Stately, No. 408. Transport, lying at Quebec, made their escape from her on the 10th of this month, by cutting the long boat adrift from her stern: Jedidiah Hunt, captain, native of Lebanon, (Conn.) Nathaniel Case, capt. native of Massachusetts; John J. Fontaine, lieutenant, native of Virginia; James Gillis, cornet of dragoons, native of Massachusetts; and Joseph Clark, ensign, native of Connecticut. A reward of one guinea, in addition to the king's bounty, was offered for their apprehension; and on the third day after they made their escape they were taken up, and sent on board the prison ship again.
