Paper Makers Set A Record

PORTLAND (LPA)-The best contract ever negotiated in any part of the pulp and paper industry has been signed to cover 15,000 workers in the Pacific states by the Pulp, Sulphate & Paper Mill Workers-AFL and the Int'l. Brotherhood of Paper Makers-AFL.

During the past year, wage raises have amounted to 181/2c an hour, and as a result of the present uniform agreement covering three states are at the unprecedented level of $1.271/ for men, and $1.07 for women. For the first time on the west coast three paid holidays are provided.
