Wednesday night we had a severe N. E. storm, and the fullest tide that has been known for these forty years; which has done considerable damage along shore, by carrying off fences, lumber, &c. In the storm a Virginia built boat, with a wooden grapnel, was drove ashore at Greenwich, and went to pieces. She was seen the preceding evening to run on a rock and overset, and three of her men to be on her side; but no relief could be afforded them, and it is supposed they all perished, as one dead body came ashore with the wreck; which had on a claret colored coat, with white metal buttons, a red jacket, and a pair of woolen overalls.
