Full Text
An Freshman in Paris has written to his correspondent what follows. The female named is the particular friend of the King of Great Britain, Defender of the Faith, &c.
The great politician here now is Mrs. Fitzherbert. The information denied to us by Ministers is kindly communicated by the illustrious personage, and her aye and nay directs the decisions of thousands. An Irish Baronet, Sir John B--e, yesterday consulted Mrs. Fitzherbert about the question of peace or war, as he was very fearful of being obliged to quit Paris. Her Excellency replied that there was no danger of war between England and France, as the former power had resolved upon the strictest neutrality. The words of Mrs. F were, "I care not who says the contrary, I speak from the highest possible authority."
Such is the importance attached to this information, that it has been handed about from family to family, and it has already tranquilized many who were about to apply for passports to England.
