Newport, Rhode-Island, May 11. Capt. Charles Davidson arrived here last Wednesday from the Bay of Honduras, who informs, that about the first Day of March last, Capt. Collis, Commander of a Sloop belonging to Providence, was taken by the Spaniards, at the West End of Turneff, lying at Anchor, who kill'd Capt. Collis, Mr. Joseph Williams, and William Barbour, aboard their own Vessel, and carried their Sloop away. The said Spaniards also took a Sloop belonging to Boston at the same Time, commanded by Capt. Cobb, and took him, his Vessel and Company away with them. They also took a Sloop belonging to Bermuda at the same Time, commanded by Capt. Burges, and carried her and Company away also.
