Full Text
Professor Griffith, of the Medical Department of Florida University, started last Thursday on a second effort to reach the Florida Volcano. We learn that Mr. J. L. Oliver, of Wakulla, and others of that section will accompany him. He left Tallahassee prepared with funds and provisions for a protracted exploration, and could not have selected a better companion than Mr. Oliver nor a more opportune season for the trip. The Doctor is a practical scientist, and if he does not succeed in reaching the volcano he may be able to make some important discoveries in the Pinhook region.
Since the above was put in type Dr. Griffith returned to Tallahassee for additional force to clear the way. He left again yesterday more hopeful than ever that he would succeed in his undertaking.
