Full Text

Swindling in Tea.

Some of the towns have been victimized by venders of tea, the article being put up in very handsome pound parcels, and in order that its quality might not be impaired, the purchaser was cautioned not to disturb it, but keep it in the original package. About one-fifth of the top of each package was tea, while the lower part was spent logwood chips, hay, or whatever rubbish that came handy. We are at a loss to understand why people will purchase of peddlers; if staple articles are offered below the usual rates, there is very likely to be something wrong.
