LITTLE ROCK, ARK., Oct. 1.—There is considerable excitement about Archie's Fork, in Van Buren county, over the finding of a quantity of Mexican dollars by a little son of J. C. Cooks, who lives in the neighborhood. The boy unearthed the treasure while digging after a rabbit which his dog chased under a shelving rock. It is reported that many years ago a Spaniard, whose history is unknown, mysteriously appeared and located in the then wild and unsettled country. It was said he was a pirate, and had fled to this secluded spot to escape punishment. After his death it was whispered that he had buried a large sum of money, and died without divulging its hiding place.
