Full Text

The late circular letter issued by Commissioner Jones and approved by Secretary Hitchcock, contains one clause that is especially endorsed by all superintendents.

It is this: "A child who has been enrolled in a non-reservation school and is at home on vacation, must be returned to that school, and U. S. Indian Agents must not permit its enrollment in another school." In order to avoid this difficulty the Department has sent out printed application blanks which must be filled out and kept on file so they may be referred to at any time.
