Full Text

Bonaparte tells the Poles he loves them and means to give them freedom. He seems also disposed to give them ease too for he takes care to appoint for them all their new officers, even to the Common Councilmen.

As an apology for the invasion of Russia by the tyrant, his American slaves say his great object is to restore Poland to her rights. When Poland was cut up, Austria stole as large a slice as Russia; yet this same Bonaparte has guaranteed to Austria her share of the plunder! So much for the justice of the Corsican.
