During the term just closed there were but two Departments in the Worthington Public School. In the grammar department there were 53 pupils, of whom 27 were females and 26 males. In the Primary there were 65 pupils, of whom 38 were females, and 27 males.— Total, 118.
The next term will open in the new school building, with three Departments, under the following named teachers: Miss Barbara Cosler, Principal; Mrs. Dr. Moore and Miss Phila Rowell, assistants.
The Worthington Seminary, under the management of Prof. E. C. Hill, is steadily growing in favor and numbers. There are 30 pupils, a number of them from Rock Co. and Osceola Co., Ia. This institution has been successful beyond the expectation of its friends, and by another year, should there be good crops, throughout the region tributary to this center, it will be placed upon a permanent footing.
