An arret and ordinance of the French King was registered at Martinico on the 10th of July last, establishing the port of Carenage on the island of St. Lucia as a free port to admit foreign vessels laden with wood of every kind, dying wood, live stock and cattle of all kinds, green or tanned hides, skins or furs, pitch and tar, rice, Indian corn, beans, peas, coffee, cotton, and cocoa, to unload and trade paying duties ordained by the 2d article of the arret of July 29, 1767.
