Thursday, Feb. 27.
In committee of the whole on the report of the Secretary of War on the petition of Wm. M'Hatton—this report is in favor of the petitioner, who prays to be placed on the pension list, and return his commutation money. After a variety of observations, the committee rose without coming to a vote, and the report was referred to a select committee, with instructions to report whether any, and what alterations ought to take place in the pension law.
In committee of the whole on the bill for the remission of certain duties paid by Eliphalet Ladd, on Goods damaged on board the ship Columbia, wrecked near Plymouth, Massachusetts.—Mr. Bourne in the chair. After some discussion of this bill, the committee rose, and were discharged from any further proceeding on the same.
On motion of Mr. Fitzsimons, it was voted that there should be a call of the House to-morrow at 12 o'clock.
