A Generous Act.

The boys who threw the eggs at Mr. Bryan in Chicago have been arrested. They confessed to Chief of Police Badenoch. The boys were arrested on the complaint of Thomas Gahan, Chairman of the Democratic County Committee. As soon as Mr. Bryan heard of their arrest he sent the following letter asking for their release:

"Auditorium Hotel, Chicago, Oct. 28.—Dear Mr. Gahan: I wish you would ask for the release of the boys arrested for throwing the eggs. I am sure it was an act of thoughtlessness and their arrest has doubtless been a sufficient lesson to them and to others.

Yours truly,

W. J. BRYAN."

Whether they will be prosecuted or not the Chief refuses to say.
