The Virgin Islands Taxi Organization and the St. Thomas Taxi Association have signed an agreement to merge into a single unit.

In a document signed April 25, the two groups agreed to establish a six month period during which the details of this merger could be arranged.

Each taxi group has posted a $1000 bond as assurance of good faith. A managing committee has been established composed of two representatives of each group.

If the managing committee cannot settle differences that may arise, disagreements are to be referred to Senator Earl Ottley, Attorney James Richards and Attorney David Maas. The decisions of these three men are final in problems brought to them.

No new name has been proposed for the merged group.
