From the South-Carolina Papers,

July 27, and August 3.

The following British Ships left the Harbour of the Havannah on the 10th of July, after the Place was delivered up to the Spaniards. viz. the Valiant, Admiral Keppel, the Orford, Commodore Arburthnot, the Hampton-Court, Edgar, Alcide, Centaur, and five Spanish Men of War, viz: Conquetador, Aquilon, Reyna, Tigre, Soverano; and the Danae, Richmond, Renown, and AEolus Frigates: The Renown went to St. Augustine, Adm. Keppel, in the Valiant, with the AEolus, went to Jamaica; Commodore Arburthnot, in the Orford, with the other Men of War and Transports, having on board General Keppel, and some of the Troops, went for England.--The AEolus that went with the Admiral bound to Jamaica, was to leave him before he reached that Island, in Order to proceed to Cadiz, and to take on board the Value of a Number of Orders on Merchants there, from Spanish to British Subjects, for Debts due to the latter from the former.

General Keppel ordered the 9th Regiment for St. Augustine, commanded by Major Ogilvie, where they have arrived.--The 35th, commanded by Major Forbes is to take Possession of Mobile, the 22d, commanded by Major Loftus, is to take Possession of Pensacola.--The 40th Regiment went to Jamaica.--The 48th and 56th went to England, and the rest went to New-York.--It is said the Remains of the 15 Battalions which left the Havanna amounted to 2,500 effective Men--We hear all the Regiments of Foot from the 50th upwards are to be disbanded: as are likewise the 2d Battalion of Royal Highlanders, the 2d and 4th of the Royal Americans and all the Independent Companies in America. The Battalions kept up are to consist of nine Companies of fifty Men each.---The Regiments ordered to St. Augustine and Pensacola, will be recruited from the Troops sent from the Havannah.--- The Spanish Garrison of St. Augustine and Pensacola are to go to Vera Cruz.-- The Accounts of the French ceding to the Spaniards the Island and City of New Orleans, with all that Part of Louisiana West of the River Miffiffippi, seem to gain credit.

Admiral Keppel, we hear, is soon to sail for England from Jamaica, where he is to be relieved by Commodore Spry.
