To His Excellency THOS. HUTCHINSON Captain General and Governor, in and over His Majesty's Province of Massachusetts-Bay.
SIR!
The Barristers and Attornies at Law, usually practising in this Metropolis, beg leave to approach your Excellency with our sincerest Congratulations on your late Advancement to the Head of the Administration of Government in this Province. When we consider your Excellency as one born and educated among us. When we reflect on the long Experience we have had of your great Abilities and integrity, of your thorough Knowledge of and regard to the Principles of the British Constitution and Laws, our Hearts are warmed with the most unfeigned Gratitude to the best of Kings: and, it is with the highest Pleasure, we contemplate this Event, as a fresh Instance of our most gracious Sovereign's Paternal Care for the Interests and Happiness of his loyal Subjects in his Province of Massachusetts-Bay.
From your distinguished Conduct in the first Department of the Law, we flatter ourselves that its Professors, so long as they make the Advancement of Justice the principal Object of their Attention, will ever find, in your Excellency, a Friend and Patron.

GENTLEMEN,
I am greatly obliged to you for this Address.

I shall lose no Part of my Regard for you by my change of Station; and will continue to patronize, favour and encourage you every Way in my Power.
