The Junction City Union speaks very highly of the improvement and enterprise of the flourishing little town of Salina, the County Seat of Saline County. It is situated on the Smoky Hill River, West of Davis County. Col. Wm. A. Phillips was one of its founders, and now lives there. The Union says that in "order to give every one an opportunity to invest in the thriving town of Salina, it has been determined to sell all the public lots in the town, several hundred, at auction to the highest bidder. The proceeds, after defraying expenses, go to building school houses, and other public institutions, in the town. In order that all may have a chance, it will be held under the following favorable terms:

One fourth cash down; one fourth in equal payments in six, twelve and eighteen months. On the same day, all the timber on the town site, which was reserved for the benefit of schools, will be sold at auction for cash, separately by trees, the money to aid in a good school or academy building.
