LITERARY FAIR
On Monday was held, at the Franklin hotel, the first meeting of the second Literary Fair; at which attended some of the booksellers from N. York and Baltimore, besides those residing in Philadelphia belonging to the association. A Constitution was reported by the Committee appointed in New-York, which after being debated on, was agreed to.
The association then proceeded to the choice of officers, when it appeared that Mathew Carey was chosen president, Samuel Campbell, vice president, and S. F. Bradford, secretary.
It is confidently believed that the sanguine expectation formed by anticipation of the success of this institution, will be fully realized.
The Fair will probably continue for two weeks. Such Booksellers residing in New York, Baltimore, Alexandria, &c. &c. as can make it convenient, are expected to attend the meeting of the association which will be held twice a day, during the continuance of the Fair.
