The first of the 240 boundary stones being erected by the Touring club of France along the line where the German advance was checked in 1918 has been placed at Chateau-Thierry, according to a Reuter dispatch from Paris in the Westminster Gazette.
Standing five feet high, the stone is of Alsatian granite, and bears the words:
"Here the invader was thrown back in 1918."
On the sides of the stone are sculptured the figures of a gas mask and a wine flask, two of the accessories that helped the allies to gain the victory.
