Bennett Students Given Scholarships

GREENSBORO, N.C. Three Bennett College students are recipients of national scholarship awards from the Board of Education of the Methodist Church, it was announced here this week.

The awards cover tuition and up to $500 and were granted on the basis of superior academic standing, leadership ability, active church membership, character, personality and need. They are among 500 such awards given annually.

Bennett students receiving scholarships are: Miss Mary Jane Williams, senior, daughter of Mrs. Coy N. Williams, of Winston-Salem.

Miss Jo Ann Martin, sophomore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warteius Martin, of Leaksville, N.C., and

Miss Margaret Bailey, sophomore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bailey, of Fruitland, Md.

Funds for support of the National Methodist Scholarships are received from local Methodist churches on the basis of a church-wide offering on Methodist Students Day, the second Sunday in June.
