Republican pledges made in the last national campaign have been kept to the letter, and as a result we have prosperous times. That was not the case under the Democratic administration.
Under that administration there was general prostration of all business interests, general discouragement all over the country and distress among all classes of people.
Men were out of employment and knew not where to look for something to do to keep soul and body together. Now it is different. Men are now employed at reasonable wages, the farmer is getting fair prices for his products and business men are prospering. The change is seen and being experienced by every man in the republic. Some do not acknowledge the fact, others seek to discountenance and make light of it, while the better and more sensible element of the people -and it is a large part-enjoy it and bless the party that has accomplished the result by its splendid management of public affairs at Washington.-Carrollton Republican Record.
