Affairs of the Greeks.-Accounts have been received from Marseilles of Lord Cochrane's having affected the purchase of a small frigate in that port for the service of Greece, for the sum of £12,000. This, with Capt. Hastings' steam-vessel, and the frigate from New-York, will give a new character to the Greek naval force. [A letter from Cowes, states that the Greek frigate Hope, from this port, was spoken 22d October, lat. 40; long. 53 1-2.]

A letter from Alexandria, dated the 27th Sept. states that a third expedition had been dispatched by the Pacha at the Morea. It is said to consist of fifty ships, partly transports with troops on board, and the remainder ships of war. If this should prove correct the poor Greeks may have to struggle for some time. But it is next to impossible to form any opinion with regard to the real state of affairs. For instance, in direct contradiction to the above, the latest Greek Journal from Hydra, says:-- "We are assured that Ibrahim Pacha is preparing to embark, with all the forces which are remaining to him, and returns to Egypt, on account of the scarcity of provisions and warlike equipments which he has felt at the theatre of war; but it is also reported that the real cause of his retreat is an order from his father, in consequence of the serious troubles which agitate Egypt."

In the Oriental Spectator of the 29th Sept. is an article representing the cause of Greece to be in a hopeless state, and accusing the correspondents of the Greek Committee of concealing the truth, in order to protract an unavailing struggle, to the injury of all parties.
