HORRIBLE BUTCHERY BY INSANE MAN
Shoots Brother-in-Law, Sister and Kills Himself.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 23.—W. R. Puryear, a student in the Ohio state university, where he is also the assistant instructor in electrical engineering, today shot and killed his brother-in-law, Fred West, and shot his sister, Mrs. West and then committed suicide by shooting himself.

The scene of the shooting was the Puryear home, and after shooting his brother-in-law and sister Puryear barricaded himself in the house and endeavored to set fire to it. Policeman Creeden attempted to arrest him but before he could do so Puryear had taken his own life. He is believed to have been laboring under a fit of temporary insanity.
