Dear Editor and Staff:

We wish that we could address each of you personally to express our gratitude for the excellent coverage you have given to our effort to organize a new National Baptist Convention. Without your help we could not possibly make the progress needed in this effort.

We shall need your continued help as we move forward in this great cause.

Please be assured that we believe our Negro Press to be the greatest ally to progress available to man in this age.

Another purpose for writing at this time is to make a progress report and to pass along some of the ideas that we have hammered out to guide the building of the finest religious organization possible for our age.

Feel free to make use of it if you think it sheds light on our effort.

Responses have come from many States, already. Almost every day we hear from persons both by mail and by phone. The greatest interest has been shown by persons in Mississippi, California and New York.

Only one letter has come expressing serious opposition. All others are either in complete agreement or differ only in procedure. The loudest approval has come from laymen.

Suffice it to say that we would not be in business at this time had not the Press given such excellent support and coverage.

Again we thank you for such able assistance in such a worthy cause.

Yours for Freedom,
L. Venchael Booth
