About 6 o'clock last evening, a four horse team belonging to and driven by Dave McQuitty, of White River, while in the neighborhood of the Richmond furnaces, became frightened, and started at a furious pace down Main street. When opposite Stewart's stable, Dave was thrown out of the wagon, and both bones of his left arm were broken, and he was otherwise seriously injured by the fall. The animals kept up their rapid gait through the town, scattering the contents of the vehicle right and left—stores, mowing machines and provisions strewing the ground in all directions. They disappeared down the canyon, and finally brought up all in a heap in the neighborhood of the Depot, where they were found by officer McKee and Causy, who went in pursuit. The injured man was picked up by the bystanders and taken into Stewart's office, and Dr. Owen sent for. That gentleman set the fractured arm and rendered all the surgical assistance necessary in the case. The patient was taken to the Jackson House, and was resting comfortably at a late hour last night.
