Be
advised,
Reverend
Sir,
whatever
you write or say, with a design to serve the interest of church establishments,
to do it in a manly Christian manner, and then you will be esteemed a
man of honour, though every person may not fall in with your senti-
ments. The advocates for equal and impartial ecclesiastical liberty are so
fully persuaded of the goodness of their cause, that they have not even a
temptation to depart from decency and truth. And if any real or feigned
brethren, through baseness of heart, and false zeal, shall follow your
steps, or be guilty of more open misrepresentation or abuse, both you and
they must expect to be left, without further notice, to buffet each other,
and to glory in your shame.
I am, Reverend Sir,
Your faithful Monitor,
A PLAIN DEALER
