NEW-YORK, Dec. 7.

By a gentleman from Quebec, and letters of late date from London, we are informed, that Lieutenant-Governor Hamilton is gone to England: Lieutenant-General Sir Frederick Haldimand was expected in Quebec early next spring, as Commander of the British troops, and Military Governor: Sir Guy Carleton also would about the same time embark for that country, in the character of Viceroy of the British territories in North-America: and Sir John Johnson would accompany the Knight of the Bath, as Superintendent of Indian affairs, commissioned with powers greatly exceeding his most worthy father and predecessor, Sir William Johnson.
