Negro Voters' League Set For Ward Meetings

Spurred on by successes in the May 14th Primary, the Atlanta Negro Voters' League is scheduling ward meetings to elect ward, precinct and section leaders within the next two weeks. The educational job accomplished has elicited compliments from both races.

Citizens in Ward I will meet Tuesday, May 27, at 7:30 p. m. in Allen Temple AME Church, Rev. R. H. Porter, pastor. Those in Ward II will elect their officers Thursday, May 29, at 7:30 p. m. in Antioch East Baptist Church, Rev. C. J. Jackson, pastor.

Later meetings are being set for Ward VIII, June 3; Ward IX, June 5; Ward V, June 9; Ward IV, June 10 and Ward III, June 12. A final city-wide meeting will be held June 15 for the purpose of presenting newly elected officers and candidates nominated in the May 14th Primary.

Charles W. Greenlea, Dr. J. B. Harris and R. L. Andrews, Ward I leaders, are urging all citizens in the Summerhill, Capitol Avenue, Peoplestown, Mechanicsville, Pittsburgh and South Atlanta Sections to attend Tuesday night's meeting at Allen Temple Church. Charles Turner and other Ward II leaders are urging citizens of Edgewood, Reynoldstown and the DeKalb County section of Atlanta to be present at the Thursday night meeting in Antioch East Baptist Church.

Workers who are organizing the other ward meetings include: R. A. Thompson, J. H. Calhoun, W. S. Hollomon and C. A. Bacote. J. W. Dobbs, fraternal leader and Co-Chairman of the League, who is just returning from Europe, will be asked to deliver the principal address on June 15. It is also planned to invite the successful candidates in the May 14th Primary as special guests for the occasion.
